Meet Inaba : the founder
Hello! I'm Inaba Amanat, a senior at high school in Katy, Texas. My journey into robotics began with a spark of inspiration from 'Big Hero 6', which opened my eyes to the incredible possibilities of combining engineering with compassionate innovation. This initial fascination has blossomed into my passion for robotics, machine learning, and coding.
As a young Muslim woman, I understand firsthand the challenges of pursuing STEM interests when you don't see many people who look like you in these fields. During middle school, I often felt limited in exploring my technological interests due to this lack of representation. However, my perspective transformed when I discovered VEX Robotics in high school. This experience not only confirmed my passion for engineering but also revealed my purpose: to be the mentor and role model I wish I had when I was younger.
My mission is to empower young Muslim students, especially girls, to embrace their interests in STEM without hesitation. Through hands-on engineering projects, coding workshops, and mentorship, I strive to create an inclusive space where students can see themselves represented in the world of technology and engineering. I believe that by sharing my journey and knowledge, I can help break down barriers and show that innovation knows no boundaries of faith or gender.
I'm committed to building bridges between traditional cultural values and modern technological advancement, proving that these worlds not only coexist but enrich each other. By fostering a community of young Muslim innovators, I hope to inspire the next generation to pursue their dreams in STEM fields with confidence and pride.
Vision behind ETE
Vision behind ETE
I always enjoyed community gathering at my mosque because it helped me regain my sense of self. Now, the name Esoterica Tech Exploration came to be from my love of the books and TV show of A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. In the show, Uncle Monty cleverly said, “Life is a conundrum of esoterica” When I was a fifth grader enjoying the show I didn’t realize how accurate this quote was. Life was really full of mysteries and I was ready to solve them. So, the name esoterica applies because I wanted the mystery of STEM to be known to young Muslims so they could become ignited with inspiration and awareness that they could too be apart of the future of technology and STEM.
